Kaitawa House

Kaitawa, accessed across a swing bridge and nestled below the Tararua Ranges, it turns its collar up against the wind and full frontally addresses the view and sun. Winner of the NZIA Supreme Award (the highest honour), this simple home sits quietly in its rural landscape tucked under the Tararua Ranges.  The south wall, clad in Corten steel protects the house from cold southerly winds while the north side is fully glazed end to end.
